Desining a customer centric warehouse
We are designing a customer centric datawarehouse in company , right now it is order centric , there are subject areas like Order,Membership,Billing,Retention , we want to get all the event data(Order,Membership,Billing,Retention etc.) for customers at one place , what will be the best approach create one big fact table containing data for all customer events or multiple fact tables for different subject areas ( Order,Billing,Memnership etc.) then join individual fact tables to get result, because there are 100's of reports using this data. Also cubes related to order , Biiling ,Retention are alos need to be build daily.
Please advise.
Please advise.

Re: Desining a customer centric warehouse
Atomic fact tables represent different business events or states. In a proper dimensional warehouse, you have multiple atomic fact tables, each within the scope of the event they represent (order, enrollment, etc...). You can then integrate the facts using queries or create aggregates from the atomic facts as necessary.

I would go with a new integrated customer dimension comprised from all the source data. You can use data quality software to build the "golden view" of the customer. From there you can add the customer FK to all existing facts.
