Open Source ETL Empty Open Source ETL

Post  AzeemFarooqui Tue Apr 21, 2009 5:52 am

Hi,

Our client is keen on using java code to perform ETL. I don't feel this is a viable option and am looking into the option of using an open source ETL tool. Does any one have any useful information on open source ETL and the pros/cons of these against standard ETL tools?

I appreciate your help.

Regards
Azeem

I've tested Pentaho wich is a great work! Pentaho is an BI suite which include Kettle, an ETL tool.
see http://kettle.pentaho.org/

Other open source tool exist like Talend.

Has anyone evaluated Pentaho and TalenD against the 34 subsystems of ETL that has been defined by the Kimball group?

How do they stack up?
