New to the forum, Hello

In our case, we had Fact table A built prior to ever thinking we would need Fact table B. Fact Table B summarizes some of the same information found in Fact table A. Fact table A is refreshed daily via ETL process. The new Fact table B needs to be refreshed monthly. My question, Is it known practice, to build new Fact tables from an exisiting Fact table? If this is ok design, then when is it not good practice?

Yes, table b would be an aggregate fact table.
