Re: ORG HIERARCHY-TYPE 2
A table design should allow to traversing a hierarchy from higher levels to lower levels of detail. You have a hierarchies of known depth.
The table design you described is an another way to model hierarchy, so why it is not working? You have other options to design hierarchy as self referenced table or use a bridge table. You can read more for those design techniques using below links.

Re: ORG HIERARCHY-TYPE 2
Thanks for the inputs.
i went thru the links i am pretty much understanding the concept of Hierarchy.
My question here is say when a new level comes or a When a org change happens where will i handle it.
Would that be in my Dim or Bridge table.
that part is really confusing me.Can you please help me in understanding the same
Thanks

Re: ORG HIERARCHY-TYPE 2
Both. When the hierarchy changes you update the dimensions and re-generate the bridge.

Thanks for all your inputs.I will try to use your thoughts while designing my dim and bridge tables for Org Hierarchy .
