Neither are a dimensional model which is what we focus on here. ;-) Unfortunately, there is no industry standard for model classifications. Many people have written extensively on the topic though. This is just as good as any, Wikipedia definition

Probably the closest thing to a conceptual model in dimensional design would be the Bus Matrix.

The logical/physical model would be the Star Schema.

Beyond that, the various models and what they represent is a function of the methodology you are using. The Dimensional Design methodology is completely different than ER Design methodology. Different terminology, different modeling approaches and deliverables.

Thanks again....I am currently reading 'The Data Warehouse Toolkit' 2nd edition RK....and yet to cover BUS matrix.

So I assume from this book and the way DM is describled in here I can refer to conceptual model to a BUS matrix.

Please correct me if I am wrong.

Once again many thanks.
