Reporting to the Associate Director of Financial Information Systems, the Senior Data Modeler is responsible for translating business requirements into information system solutions by designing and developing relational and dimensional models (conceptual, logical, and physical) that will be used to extend and improve CUMC's financial monitoring and forecasting capabilities by integrating heterogeneous sources (grants, clinical activity, financial accounting, student, etc..) into one data repository.
The Senior Data Modeler will collaborate with other team members within the Data Analysis and Financial Information Systems team throughout the project life cycle to perform model reviews and resolve any issues that are related to the models. This individual will also work closely with other team members within the group and business clients to gain intimate knowledge of both the source systems and target dimensional and relational models. Other functions include but are not limited to:
- Performs source system data profiling and relationship discovery
- Ensures data quality, data accuracy and scalable growth of CUMC's data warehouse
- Documents the source-to-target data specifications
- Participates in the gathering and documenting of business requirements
- Enhances existing models to meet new or changed business requirements
- Designs, develops and maintains MS Reporting Services Reports (SSRS) and Microsoft Analysis Services (SSAS) OLAP cubes
- Serves as the backup administrator and developer to all BI applications which includes ETL development, SQL object development, and administration of CUMC's DW/BI environment (e.g. Portal, Databases, and DW/BI applications)
- Participates in all user training efforts which includes leading hands-on training sessions and documentation
