Data "input" tool
Hi,
I was wondering if anyone had suggestions for how get data into data warehouse, which isn't located in any "source systems". E.g. Marketing departement which to group products in specific ways (for reporting purposes).
At the moment we a using Excel-sheets, that we load in via an ETL-tool.
But I am looking for a more structured way to do this. Some kind of form-tool, using sharepoint etc.?
Would like to hear suggestions from anyone, who are not using the "Excel-solution".
Best regards

MS Access?
If you do low volume data entry, you should still handle in an area separate from the data warehouse and use an etl process to apply it to the dw. This gives you control as to when data gets in an provides the ability to audit such updates, Giving free access to do direct updates that affect analysis results across the board is not a good idea,

It seems MS new Master Data Services serves the purpose as well.
