ETL Tool Research
I apologize in advance because I'm sure this has been asked numerous times, but wanted more up-to-date responses.
I'm researching DI tools and wanted some opinions on what others have used and their thoughts on the tools. I've researched IBM, Informatica, SSIS, Pervasive, SAP Data Integrator, Talend, CloverETL & Pentaho (think that list is complete).
My usage would be to batch load a DW with various sources (IBM DB2, SQL Server, mySQL, flat files) and Teradata target - design is all the usual dims, facts, scd types 1-2-3, surrogate keys, etc
Just wondering what thoughts on any of these or (or one not listed), what do you like/dislike about them?
Thanks!

Re: ETL Tool Research
Hi wonka,
Unless this is a purely academic exercise, I think it's important to also consider the resources available for each tool, including people (staff, consultants), documentation, training, community (forums, blogs, events), infrastructure required to support (i.e. how efficient are they), software licensing costs.
