Senior Data Warehouse Developer Empty Senior Data Warehouse Developer

Okay, I received 48 and 59 views respectively to each of my recent posts seeking a Senior Data Warehouse Developer to move to Yuma, AZ for a full-time permanent position with a billion dollar company subsidiary.  But, no replies.  Not one.  With all due respect and a great deal of humbleness, will any of you good folks who viewed my posts tell me what salary range and other incentives it would take for a Kimball graduate with a Bachelor's Degree and DW/BI/ETL/MDX/cubing experience to move out of the Polar Vortex into sunny Yuma?  Our fair city has the most days of sunshine in the nation per year, it enjoys about 1/3 the living costs of New York City, there is a quiet atmosphere here conducive to grokking (now you know how old I am), and it is located about a 2-hour drive to San Diego or Cabo San Lucas, 4 hours to Las Vegas, 3 hours to Phoenix, 4 hours to L.A.  What is it that DBAs seek?  New Challenges?  We have that.  Interaction with a retired CPG DBA available to mentor a successful candidate?  We have that.  Restaurants that serve Dakshin cuisine or sushi or siu bao?  We have that.  Opportunities to interact with personnel at the major GM hot-climate test center or state-of-the-art practitioners at the world's largest military R&D center?  We have that.  Interested in the new F-35 all-purpose jet fighter?  Our MCAS has the first deployed wing of F-35 aircraft stationed here in Yuma.  Desert?  Yes.  Hot?  Yes.  Beautiful after a rain, with desert blooms in full color?  Yes.  A major employer who understands the value of being a Kimball graduate and who is willing to negotiate to bring the right person here to help them establish and maintain a viable data warehouse?  Yes.  Please, somebody, reply with suggested salary requirements.  Very Respectfully, Tom Kiley, tom@hunteremployment.com, 800-501-2794, option 1.

Once again, the job description:  Database Warehouse Analyst/Business Intelligence Developer/Programmer.  Determines business information needs and identifies system requirements in planning, designing, coding, testing, debugging, configuring, and documenting consumer product goods using ETL applications and dimensional data models.  Analyzes business intelligence data and provides reports.  Creates, modifies, documents, and enhances data specifications including identifying and mapping data elements from source systems into the dimensional data warehouse.  Translates requirements into technical specifications.  Validates that the data warehouse meets specified requirements.  Develops and maintains corporate data architecture, data management standards and conventions, data dictionaries, and data element naming standards.  Acts as liaison between IT and business units.  Reports to CFO.  POSITION REQUIRES:  Bachelor’s Degree in computer science or related field, minimum five years’ experience in Oracle PL/SQL or MS SQL Server SSIS and SSAS programming large scale relational database systems in operating agricultural environments; must be Kimball-trained in data warehouse lifecycle and dimensional data modeling (cubing); must be familiar with the MS BI tool stack including the use of Excel Pivot Tables or similar; must have experience with MDX methodology including query execution, architecture, analysis, formula engines and storage engines.  Full-time permanent employment.  Salary is negotiable from $100,000.  Relocation to a warm climate in Southwest US reimbursed.  Full benefit program.  Niche CPG employer experiencing enormous growth and needs to be able to use operational data more effectively.  Please provide contact information in resume to tom@hunteremployment.com, and call 800-501-2794 to discuss.

Might I suggest trying to get you hands on the most recent TDWI Salary, Roles, and Responsibilities Report. According to that report, your location, and job description, you are quite low for a Senior level position.

Now beyond that, here are a couple other things that may apply (might not be 100% accurate, but have been my observations in my interactions with DW professionals):
--Contractors want to contract. It's less about the challenges, and more about the ability to go from challenge to challenge, company to company, and not be tied down to one place.
--Those who want to be tied down, already are, and are happy there. I am talking strictly Senior level DW professionals. If they are to that level and working full time for one company, they are probably already happy there and not looking to relocate anywhere.

To TheNJDevil: Thank you for your kind reply. The TDWI is helpful, and I have passed your suggestions on to the employer. I would like to see the resumes of DBAs who may not be at the senior level but who would move to Yuma for the right incentives.
