BUSINESS INTELLIGENCE SPECIALIST/DATA MODELER

The department of Enterprise Application Services within Ithaca College’s office of Information Technology Services (ITS) invites applications for a full-time Business Intelligence Specialist/Data Modeler to assist with the development, maintenance and support of the college Business Intelligence technical environment. Develop, manage, and update BI data models, including physical and logical models. Work with the Business Intelligence Application Architect and the appropriate business users to develop and implement data models to meet the college's reporting and analytic needs. Document data models and standards for data usage; work with the DBA/A for BI and BI Application Architect to ensure that data models are optimized for best performance. Translate business needs to pragmatic data models that conform to overall technical architecture and best practice. Work with business users to develop advanced reports, provide report writing support, and assist with reporting tool training. Participate as a member of the college's strategic and operational BI teams as appropriate.

Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in a technical field with a minimum of five years experience in the area of business intelligence and a minimum of two-plus years experience in data architecture and modeling for business intelligence or the equivalent combination of education and experience; strong dimensional modeling design skills; hands-on experience with data modeling and data profiling tools, preferably in an Oracle environment; good interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team are required. Work experience in higher education is desired.
