Seeking Director of Data Warehouse Development for NYC Institution (Full-Time)
We are conducting a search for a full-time:
Director of Financial Information Systems (Data Warehouse Development)
For a Premier organization in NYC with annual revenues in excess of $1.6B.
We are seeking a dynamic, seasoned professional out of a corporate, academic or research environment to head up a new financial modeling and business intelligence unit evaluating operations and finances.
This Senior Director position will report to the VP of Budget and Planning and will be situated in the Finance organization. Being part of the Finance group breaks down some of the traditional barriers that often exist between IT and user needs. This initiative has the complete support of Upper Management across the board and comes with tremendous autonomy in addition to high visibility and responsibility.
The opportunity to lead a pure development effort and to create a Data Warehouse and Financial reporting Architecture/System where none previously existed at an organization of this size and stature and with these resources and commitment is truly rare.
In addition to building a full-time team of 4 (salaries are already budgeted) this person will be responsible for: system architecture design, including selection of software tools; development; implementation; and eventual support of the financial information systems. Systems will include but not be limited to data warehousing and data input applications in the area of financial reporting, budget preparation and quality control, space management, corporate performance metrics, grants analysis and clinical operations analysis.
We are looking for results-oriented individuals with a proven record of accomplishment in implementing sophisticated enterprise-level Data Warehouse projects, extensive experience with reporting including end-user support, excellent analytical, mathematical and problem solving skills and the ability to independently manage complex projects. This person must have demonstrated the ability to work with a diverse group of senior administrators in a large organization and be able to adjust to shifting priorities and rapid change. The appropriate candidate will possess strong presentation skills and the ability to explain complex technical information while still being hands-on and actively involved in the development process. 10+ years of progressively comprehensive information systems responsibility in large complex organization, required. Advanced degree preferred.
With an excellent benefit package, this organization also offers unique work-life balance. Salary is competitive; commensurate with title and responsibilities.
The position is well suited for those currently in corporate environments but it might also appeal to someone who has been a consultant and is ready to put down roots in a stable environment. A well positioned role with great support both professionally and personally.
It is extremely unusual to come across a position of this scope, size and challenge in an environment that provides this blend of professional freedom with stability.
